Rolando Garza

Elsa - Rolando Garza, 64, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at his sister's Elvia (Benito) Rodriguez residence, surrounded by his sisters and brothers. He was born January 20, 1957 to Juan, Sr. and Maria Mercado Garza in Elsa, Texas. Rolando enlisted in the United States Army in 1976; he proudly served his country. Rolando is survived by his son, Ray Garza; sisters, Elvia (Benito C.) Rodriguez, Yolanda (Oraldo) Cardoza, Anna (Roberto) Elizondo, Emma (Demetrio) Trevino, Sylvia (Victor) Garza, and Letisia (Sigifredo) Montelongo; brothers, Jesus (Ofelia) Garza, Juan (Suzanne) Garza III, and Esteban (Erica) Garza. He is preceded in death by his wife, Suzy Garza; son Rolando Garza, Jr.; parents, Juan, Sr. and Maria Mercado Garza; three brothers, Manuel Garza, Dagoberto Garza and Ricardo Garza; three sisters, Eva Garza, Emilia Garza and Gloria Garza. Rolando was a man who loved his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Viewing will be Friday, July 9, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Funeral mass will  be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa, TX. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, TX. Pallbearers will be Aaron Steven Garza, Jalen Segura, Robert San Miguel, Eric Hernandez, Jesus Garza, Jr., and Jesus Garza, III. Honorary pallbearers will be his son Ray Garza, and his brothers Esteban Garza, Jesus Garza, and Juan Garza.
