Monte Alto/Edcouch - Robert Baxter was born on January 17, 1975 in Edinburg, TX. He graduated in 1993 from Edcouch-Elsa High School. He will be best remembered for his role in Don Quixote as Sancho Panza and his infamous shirt, “I’m a Mexican trapped in a Gringos body.” He volunteered with Edcouch Fire Department and there he grew to start his career. Once hired at Weslaco Fire Department in 1995 he attended the fire academy and EMT school. During his career with the Weslaco Fire Dept., he continued his education and became a licensed paramedic. Robby became a driver and served as an instructor to the fire academy. He met his high school sweetheart in 1992 and they married in June 1997. Robby, will be best remembered for all his jokes and pranks and his loud cheering during his boy’s games. He loved his family and friends. It was always a good time when you were around him. Robby, We Love You and you will be greatly missed.

Robert is survived by his wife, Veronica Betty Lopez; sons, Stephen Michael Baxter and Matthew Ryan Baxter; brother, Alan (Daida) Baxter; sisters, Debbie (Antonio) Gomez and Laurie (Mike) Holland; coffee buddy, Angelica Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wynn, Sr. & Marcia Fay Baxter; brother, Bryan Swanson and sister, Kimberly Chavez.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will follow at a later date.
