Ricardo Fernandez

EDCOUCH-Ricardo Fernandez, 63, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2024, in the peacefulness of his home surrounded by his loving family in Edcouch, TX. Ricardo was born September 25, 1960 in Elsa, TX, to Ruben and Maria Benita Fernandez.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ruben Fernandez; his son Ricardo Andres Fernandez, and best friend, Yolanda Pena.

Left to cherish his memory are his highschool sweetheart and loving wife of 44 years, Melba Fernandez; sons, Ruben Jaime Fernandez (Alyssa) and Rolando Javier Fernandez; daughters, Monica Fernandez (AJ), Ruby Ann Fernandez (Joey), Benita E. Fernandez, and Ashlan Salinas (Ricky); grandchildren, Cassandra Villarreal, Dylan Villarreal, Mariah Villarreal, Ruben Jaime Fernandez Jr, Kalyssa Fernandez, Kiyannah Fernandez, Nyssa Garcia, Ricardo Andres Fernandez, Rylynn Barrientes, Nathan Garcia, Adelynn Salinas, and Luke Salinas; Great-Grandpups, Winston, Martini, and Gizmo and numerous nieces and nephews who he deeply loved.

He is also survived by his Mother, Maria Benita Fernandez; Brothers, Ruben Fernandez, Jr., Rene Fernandez, Rodolfo Fernandez, Roel Fernandez; Sisters, Juanita Luna, Irene Ramirez, Leticia Prieto, Isabel Bautista, Marivel Fernandez, and Evangelina Noriega.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Mass of Celebration will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St Theresa of Infant Jesus Church in Edcouch, TX Interment will follow at Highland Memorial in Weslaco, TX. Having the distinguished honor of serving as pallbearers are: Ruben Fernandez, Jr., Rene Fernandez, Rodolfo Fernandez, Roel Fernandez, Ruben Jaime Fernandez Jr and Joey Garcia. Honorary pallbearers are: Cartarino Cantu, Jay Flores , AJ Barrientes and Dylan Villarreal.

Ricardo Fernandez's spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed,but his kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of all fortunate enough to have known him.

Funeral services are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels at 1401 E Santa Rosa Ave, Edcouch, Texas 78538.
