Weslaco-Rene Rivera, 65,  passed away Monday, January 1, 2024, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX. Rene was born on July 9, 1958 in Weslaco, TX to Porfirio and Sara Rivera. Rene is preceded in death by his parents, Porfirio and Sara Rivera; brother, Carlos Rivera; sister, Olivia Cantu. Rene is survived by his wife, Rebecca Rivera; daughters Roxanne (Reynaldo) Felix, Yvette Rivera (Rolando Garza, Jr.), Priscilla Rivera (Fernando) 11 grandchildren; brothers, Reynaldo Rivera and Ruben Rivera; sisters Elvia Mata, Lupina Mata and Lucelia Garza.

Viewing for Mr. Rene Rivera will be Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Fueral Chapels in Edcouch.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at Iglesia Rosa De Saron in La Villa, TX

Burial will follow to Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.
