Monte Alto- Ramiro Gomez, 76 passed away peacefully Saturday, August 20, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Ramiro Gomez was born in Kingsville, Texas on December 15, 1945, to Tomas and Guadalupe Gomez. He was sent to Monte Alto, Texas after his mother passed away when he was only 6 months of age. There he lived humbly and was taken care of by his grandmother Liberata, his aunts and uncles. Unfortunately, after his grandmother’s passing, he struggled to find his identity and place in life. As luck would have it, he found a most humble and loving companion in Elida Ramirez, his wife and life-long partner of 60 years. Together, they shared many good, some bad, but beautiful memories.
His proudest moments were the birth of his four sons: Eddie, Adan, Esteban & Ramiro Jr. He strived to give his sons everything he didn’t have including tough love that he knew would get them to survive the hardships of life. He was a hardworking man who never shied away from hard work. His jobs varied from working in the fields with his family, plant manager of the local frozen produce packing company, maintenance & bus driver at Monte Alto ISD, bus driver for Valley Transit Company and running his own small businesses (store and tire shop). His biggest job of all was helping and caring for his grandchildren whom he would move mountains for. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, mechanics, welding and caring for various types of pets such as: dogs, cats, parakeets, pigeons, doves and chickens. His greatest joy was to see his whole family together at his home enjoying each other’s company and laughing at silly jokes/pranks. He loved to see everyone happy and truly loved to make everyone laugh! Grandpa Gomez will be remembered for his sense of humor, his candid words of advice, his big heart, his love of music, but most of all for the great faith he had in God almighty who guided him and made him the man we all have grown to love and admire! May You Rest In Peace Grandpa Gomez! You Will Be Greatly Missed! “As Long As There Is Love and Memory, There Is No True Loss!”
