Rafaela P. Fuentes, 68, went with our Lord Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at her residence with her family at her side. Rafaela’s pride and joy was having her own business, Fela’s Barber Shop and Beauty Salon in Edcouch. She is survived by her husband of 45 yrs. Enrique Fuentes; her son Hector (Mitzi) Fuentes; daughters, Elisa (Francisco) Fuentes, Eva (Francisco) Mendoza, Esperanza (Ramiro) Aldape and Elia (Heriberto) Luna. Her grandchildren include Frankie, Mark and Kassandra Fuentes, Miranda and Marliza Mendoza, and Samuel Hector Fuentes. She is also survived by her brothers, Jesus, Rigoberto and Manuel Padilla; and sisters, Maria Imelda Padilla and Irene Ortega.

Services

Viewing will be from 2 pm to 9 pm Tuesday, Sept. 17 and 10 am to 9 pm Wednesday, Sept. 18, with Holy Rosary at 7 pm on both days.
Funeral Mass will be 10 am Thursday, Sept. 19 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Edcouch, with burial to follow at 11 am at Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco.

Pallbearers will be Hector Fuentes, Frankie Fuentes, Mark Fuentes, Frank Fuentes, Sr., Frank Mendoza and Herb Luna. Honorary pallbearers will be Ramiro Aldape and Samuel Hector Fuentes.

The family conveys many thanks to all family and friends who have been supportive throughout Fela’s illness. God bless you.
