EDINBURG-Oscar Cardoza Jr, 73, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 30, 2024 at his Edinburg residence.
Oscar was born September 20, 1950 in Weslaco, Texas to Oscar Cardoza, Sr. and Concepcion Cardoza.
Oscar obtained his Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Pan American College. Oscar served his country in the U.S. Army and had a successful career working for the state of Texas. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and humor that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cardoza; children Clarissa Martin (Richard), Cassandra Gonzalez (Carlos), and Oscar Cardoza III. He is also survived by his stepmother, Genoveva Cardoza; siblings Trine Cardoza (Fred Kidwell), Teresa Carrion (Baudelio), Osvaldo Cardoza (Alicia), Homero Cardoza (Dora), and Oraldo Cardoza (Yolanda).
His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren Adrian Cardoza, Kaitlyn Martin, Kierstyn Martin, Aidan Martin, Carlie Gonzalez, Cayla Gonzalez, and Carlos Gonzalez, as well as his great-grandchildren Tristan Cardoza and Ella Cardoza.
A dedicated father, brother, uncle, and a proud grandfather & great-grandfather, Oscar will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel of Edcouch. Mass will be Friday, September 6, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at St Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Edcouch. Inurnment will follow at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Full military honors will be conducted by the VFW 7473 of Elsa.
Funeral services are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels at 1401 E Santa Rosa Ave, Edcouch, Texas 78538.
