Elsa - Oralia Hinojosa, 84, passed away to be with our Lord August 26, 2020 at Valley Grande Manor Nursing Home in Weslaco. Oralia was born November 5, 1935 to Andres and Sanjuana Hinojosa in Mexico. Although Oralia worked as an Administrative Assistant in various capacities, she was known in our local community as a dedicated and devout Catholic. She was known by many as Tia Lala, Auntie and to others as "Yaya". Her dedication and service to the Catholic community was regarded as her destined mission in life. She will be missed by many.
Oralia is survived by her niece, Marylu Villarreal; nephews, Arturo Hinojosa, Andres Hinojosa, Alberto Hinojosa, Rolando Hinojosa, Rene Hinojosa, and Antonio Hinojosa; sisters-in-law Guadalupe Hinojosa, and Bertha Hinojosa. Also surviving her are her closest friends, Harriet (Albert) Villalpando and Mina Hinojosa and family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Sanjuana Hinojosa; brothers, Arturo Hinojosa and Rolando Hinojosa; and sister, Maria Del Socorro Hinojosa.
Graveside services will be held September 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Officiating at the cemetery will by Father Cesar Partida from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa. (The service will be live streamed)
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa or plant a tree in memory of Oralia Hinojosa.
