Norman Wirth

Santa Rosa- Norman S. Wirth, 92, passed away in the comfort of his loving home Friday, July 17, 2015. Born September 28, 1922 in New Orleans, LA. Norman attended TMI before graduating from Santa Rosa High School. He then attended Texas A&I College before joining the United States Marine Corp where he served in World War II. After retiring from working 41 years for Missouri Pacific Railroad, Norman enjoyed gardening. He was active with the American Legion Post 205 and served as Chaplin. He was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Santa Rosa. He is preceded in death by his loving and very devoted wife of 63 years, Ernestine Wirth. He is survived by his sons, Norman Jr.(Klasine), Nathan, and Neil; grandchildren, Natalie Holland (Lee), John Wirth (Amber) and Kristin Phillips (Andrew) and Great –grandchildren, Ethan Holland, Jocob “Jake” Phillips and Kieran Phillips. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends. Viewing from Norman will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Santa Rosa United Methodist Church 208 Main St. Santa Rosa, TX.Funeral Service for Norman will be held today, July 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Rosa United Methodist Church at 208 Main St. Santa Rosa, TX. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, TX at 14166 Bus. 83 La Feria TX. Cardoza Funeral Home of Edcouch is in charge of funeral arrangements. In lieu of flower please make memorial contributions on his behalf to Santa Rosa United Methodist Church.
