Margarita Torres

SANTA ROSA - Margarita Torres, 69, a beloved member of the community, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Born on May 18, 1955, in Santa Rosa, TX, Margarita was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. She cherished spending time with her loved ones and found joy in simple pleasures like watching YouTube videos, wrestling matches, and shows like Dr. Pimple Popper. Margarita also had a passion for cooking and baking delicious meals for her family. She was adored by her grandchildren and found great joy in spending time with them. 

Margarita was preceded in death by her parents Alfredo Torres and Evangelina Perez; and brother Alfredo Torres, Jr.

Margarita is survived by her loving son, Ernesto Navarro; daughters Lydia Torres and Liza (Juan) Ibarra; sister Juanita Rodriguez; and 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Viewing will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. As per her wishes, she will be cremated at a later date.
