Marcos Rangel, III went to be with the Lord Monday, May 30, 2022 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Marcos was a lifelong resident of Edcouch. He attended the Edcouch-Elsa School District and was a True Yellow Jacket. He played Football from 1991-1995 for the Edcouch-Elsa Yellow Jacket Varsity Team. His true love and great passion was for football. He was one of the founders for the Edcouch-Elsa Killer Bees Little League football Team, teaching future Yellow Jackets. He also volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club and coached Baseball and Basketball little league teams for over two decades. He was a coach to many young aspiring football players, whom well into their adult years always cared and credited him for his support and instruction. A true Yellow Jacket fan at heart, his famous words were, “Once a Yellow Jacket, Always a Yellow Jacket! Que Viva La Maquina." Marcos had a very big heart and never hesitated to help anyone with whatever he could, for as little or a lot that it could be. He will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Marcos Rangel Jr. and Grand-Nephew, Terrance Jacoby Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife, Araceli Rodriguez Rangel; his mother, Francisca Rangel; son, Marcos Rangel IV; brother, Miguel Rangel; sisters, Viola Enriquez, Melissa Rangel, Lupita Garcia, Hilda Ayala, and Rachel Rangel. He is also survived by his step children, Priscilla Cantu, Josue Cantu, Jr. and Johnathan Cantu; step grandson: Fernando Leal along with numerous nieces and nephews and one grand nephew. The Rangel Family would like to thank the many, many family, friends and members of the Edcouch-Elsa community for their overwhelming love, affection and donations. We feel over joyed with the love and support for Marcos, God Bless you all.
Viewing will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel in Edcouch, Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Cardoza Funeral Home of Edcouch.
