MONTE ALTO- Macrina M. Garate 95, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on April 3, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family in Monte Alto, TX.
Macrina was born March 22, 1930 to Adelaido & Juana Mendoza in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi. Macrina is preceded in death by her husband Timoteo Garate; her sons: Roberto and Javier Garate, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Today, we gather to honor and remember a woman who was an irreplaceable part of our lives. Our beloved mother has gained her wings and has gone to be with the Lord, but her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Throughout her life, she faced many challenges, yet she continued to live with unwavering strength and determination. No matter the obstacle, she always believed in herself, and it was that belief that inspired all of us. Her resilience, zest for life, and determination were remarkable. It is these qualities that we will forever admire.
One of her greatest passions was helping others. Whether it was a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or simply being there for someone in need. She showed us the power of compassion and empathy. Her love for family was immense, and the joy she found in our gatherings was something she cherished deeply. When music filled the air, her spirit came alive, and she would dance as if there were no tomorrow.
She had a wealth of stories that she loved to share with us. Stories that brought laughter, wisdom, and joy. These stories, along with all the wonderful memories we have shared will live on in our hearts forever.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, strength, compassion, empathy, and kindness will continue to guide us. Though she may no longer be with us in the physical sense, her presence will always be felt in everything that we do in our lives. She was the pillar of our family and the glue that brought us together.
Rest in peace, Mom. We love you always and forever.
