EDINBURG-Luis Segura, Jr. 58, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024 in Edinburg, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and respect among those who knew him. He was born on May 12, 1966, in Edinburg, Texas, and graduated from Edcouch Elsa High School in 1984, where he was known for his prowess, playing both football and baseball for the Edcouch Elsa Yellow Jackets.
Luis dedicated a decade of his life to his career as a truck driver, a role in which he was not only skilled but also beloved by many members of the community. His sense of humor and warm personality shone through in every interaction, making him a cherished friend to many. Luis had a deep passion for animals and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, showcasing his vibrant spirit in diverse ways.
Beyond his career and interests, Luis was actively involved in his community through Kairos Ministries, where he ministered to individuals in prisons. His commitment to service highlighted his compassionate nature and desire to make a positive impact beyond himself. Luis's life was characterized by love, service, and joy, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Luis was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Segura, Sr. and Olga Pena, and his grandfather, Conrado Segura (Atillana).
Luis is survived by his daughters Alyssa R. Segura (Lupe), Brenda Segura (Jose), and Blanca A. Segura; his stepmother Teresa Segura; his brother Gilbert Segura; his sisters Christina Segura Flores (Ruben), Norma Garza, Angie Wilkins, Maricela Segura, Elizabeth Segura, and Mary Lou Segura; and thirteen grandchildren. He is also remembered fondly by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects for Luis Segura, Jr. Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Chapels located at 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave, Edcouch, TX. A Funeral Service will be conducted Friday, November 15, 2024 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.
Funeral Service are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located at 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave, Edcouch, Texas 78538.
