Lucinda Garza

LA VILLA - Lucinda Garza, 68 went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in La Villa. Lucinda was born in El Campo, Texas on August 27, 1955 to Desiderio and Maria Alvarado.

Lucinda found great joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was spending an afternoon shopping, trying her luck at bingo, or supporting and cheering her grandchildren at their various events. She also had a passion for education, serving as a substitute teacher, touching the lives of many young students. Lucinda leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness that will be forever cherished by all who knew her. 

Lucinda is proceeded in death by her husband Canuto Garza Jr, father Desiderio Alvarado, brothers, Juan Desiderio Alvarado, Alfredo Alvarado, Ricardo Alvarado and grandson Joey Reyna.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Michell (Roy) Flores, Marianna (Rene) Reyna, Maricela  Garza, Canuto (Sandra) Garza, Marissa Garza, Carlos (Cassie) Garza, A.J (Jackie) Garza. Grandchildren; Freddy Reyna, R.J Reyna, Caitlyn Garza, Ramiro Vaiz, Emma R Peña, Diego Vaiz, Sebastian Garza, Raul Flores, and Carolina Garza, loving mother Juanita Alvarado, sister Rosa M Contreras and brother Eddie Alvarado.  

A viewing will be held on Thursday August 1, 2024 and Friday August 2, 2024 from 1:00 P.M-9:00 P.M with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 P.M on both evenings at Serenity Funeral Chapels in Edcouch. Funeral service will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024 at 10:00 A.M at St Teresa in Edcouch followed by a burial at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.

Funeral services are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels at 1401 E Santa Rosa Ave, Edcouch, Texas 78538.
