Leonardo Cardoza

Sebastian - Leonardo Cardoza,  a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully surronded by his loved ones on November 12, 2024 at the age of 81. Born on May 1, 1943 to Sixto Cardoza and Celestina Losoya, Leonardo devoted much of his life to serving others and sharing unwavering faith. 

For 44 years, Leonardo was dedicated to his career as a truck driver, navigating the highways with a passion and pride that was evident to all who encountered him. Yet, it was his commitment to his faith and community that defined the legacy he leaves behind. Leonardo enjoyed preaching the word of God to others and great fulfillment in his role as a regular pioneer for 20 years. His deep love for scripture and dedication to studying the word of God guided his life, and he served as an elder in the congregation of Raymondville, Texas, where he inspired many with his wisdom and compassion.

Leonardo's personality was characterized by his loving nature; he embraced the roles he held with an open heart. As a father and grandfather, he instilled values of kindness and integrity in his family, always encouraging them to seek their own paths in faith and life. His warmth and gentility made him a cherished friend, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Leonardo is proceeded in death by his son, Sixto Cardoza; great grandson, Christopher Quintana; parents Sixto Cardoza and Celestina Losoya. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years San Juana Cardoza, sons; Ignacio Cardoza, Leonardo (Irma) Cardoza, Jr., Fabian Cardoza, Abraham Cardoza, Juan (Candance) Cardoza, Jose (Jessica) Cardoza; daughters Rebeca Cardoza, Sarita (Javier) Cardoza, Anna (Eddie) Cardoza; his sisters, Leonor Mendez, Carmen Mireles, Celestina Leary and Margarita Garcia. He is also survived by  23 grand children and 17 great great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Leonardo’s life on Saturday November 16, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Talk at 6:30 PM. As per Leonardo's wishes he will be cremated at a later date.

Leonardo Cardoza’s gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and love for his family will remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will continue to resonate in the lives he touched.

Services are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located at 1401 E Santa Rosa Ave, Edcouch, Texas 78538.
