Julio Gonzalez

LA VILLA- Julio Gonzalez 80, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Julio was born April 12, 1943 in Lyford, Texas to Ramon and Ignacia Gonzalez. Julio is preceded in death by his wife, Juana Gonzalez; parents, Ramon and Ignacia Gonzalez; sister, Marcos "Maco" Hernandez; brother, Ignacio " Nacho" Gonzalez.

Julio is survived by his loving children, Dora Hoppes, Maria Isabel Salinas, Sulema Hill, Corina Romo, Julio Gonzalez, Jr., Magdaleno Gonzalez, Maricela Salinas, Belio Gonzalez,Victorio Gonzalez, Joaquin Gonzalez, David Anthony Salinas, Quentin Salinas, Fernando Gonzalez and Maria De Los Angeles Cardenas. He is also survived by his 25 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lupe Gonzalez, Federico Gonzalez, Juan "Spiker" Gonzalez, Salvador Gonzalez, Lourdes Ramirez and Miguel Gonzalez.

Viewing will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Interment will follow to Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Full military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 205 from Harlingen, TX.
