Edcouch - Juan V. Garcia, 78, passed away peacefully January 8, 2020 at his residence in Edcouch. He was born January 8, 1943 to Jose T. and Ignacia V. Garcia in La Sara. Mr. Garcia was well known in the community since he worked for Edcouch-Elsa ISD for many years. Many students and parents got to know him and thought highly of his quiet demeanor. He was a humble man. Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Maria Fidelfa Garcia; sons, Ricardo Garcia (Doralia), Juan Garcia, Jr. (Jennifer), and Emmanuel Garcia; daughters, Cynthia Solis (Raul) and Norma Gandaria (Sigifredo); 11 grandchildren; 7 great- grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Juan is also survived by his brothers, Ramon Garcia (Amparo), Lupe Garcia (Maria Elena), George Garcia (Nelly), Javier Cisneros; and sister, Amelia Aguilar (Gregorio). Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Jose T. and Ignacia V. Garcia; brothers, Santos Garcia and Santiago Garcia (Lupita).
Viewing will be Sunday, January 10, 2021 and Monday, January 11, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. both days. Viewing will continue Tuesday, January 12, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
