Josefita Vallejo

On January 14th, Josefita H. Vallejo took her final breath, surrounded by her loved ones. The sun rose, and the world welcomed Josefita on August 29th, 1953; that day, the world became a little brighter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Romana R. Hernandez and Santiago Hernandez, grandchildren Amelia and Bradley Ortegon, sister Esmeralda (Esmi) Mireles, and brothers Domingo, Jose & Mike Hernandez. Josefita is survived by her husband of 54 yrs., Daniel D. Vallejo, her son Daniel (Ginger) Vallejo Jr., Daughters Diana Vallejo, Melisa Vallejo, Tammy (Ricardo Jr.) Gonzalez, 15 children, and 20 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind five sisters, numerous nieces, and nephews. She will forever be loved and remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; her absence leaves our family heartbroken.

A celebration of Josefita's life will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Interment will follow to Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Having the distinguished honor of serving as pallbearers are:
Eron D. and Enrique D. Vallejo, Nathan & Daniel Ortegon, Porfirio III and Roman Guerrero, Maizie and Cadence Gonzalez.
