Elsa - Jose Victor Zavala, 81, entered eternal rest Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. Joe was born April 6, 1939 to Victor and Marciana Zavala in Elsa, TX. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irma Zavala; parents; sisters, Guadalupe (Lupe) Guzman, Rafaela (Fela) Zavala and Norfilia Lopez; and brother, Martin Zavala. He is survived by his son, Roberto (Eneida) Zavala; daughters, Norma (Noel) Vargas, Thelma Zavala, Dalia Zavala; 11 grandchildren: Xavier (Melinda) Zavala, Crystal (Preston) Lightfoot, Melissa Vargas, Marcos Zavala, Nina (Ricky) Montalvo, Christopher Vargas, Vincente (Katie) Zavala, Rene Flores, Lee Flores, Sergio Araiza, Megan (KC) Arellano, Noel Roman; a very special niece, Laura Olivares; and 16 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. Joe is also survived by his brothers, Eloy (+Juana) Zavala, Refugio (Kina) Zavala, and Antonio (Lulu) Zavala.
Viewing will be Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with Graveside Service to follow at 3:00 p.m at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
