La Villa- Jose 'Joey' Javier Reyna, 26, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his residence in La Villa. Joey was born May 26, 1997 to Rene Javier Reyna and Marianna G. Reyna in Weslaco, TX. Joey is preceded in death by his grandfather; Canuto Garza, Jr.; grandmother, Elida Duarte; grandfather, Jose Reyna; aunt, Laura Reyna Duarte.
 
Joey is survived by his parents; Marianna Reyna  and Rene Reyna; brothers, Alfredo Reyna, and Rene Reyna; grandmother, Lucinda Garza; great grandmother, Maria Alvarado; aunts, Marissa Garza Vaiz, Michell (Roy) Flores, Maricela Garza; uncles, Canuto (Sandra) Garza, Carlos (Cassie) Garza, A.J. (Jackie) Garza; cousins, Caitlyn Garza, Ramiro Vaiz, Emma Rose Peña, Diego Vaiz, Sebastian Garza, Raul C. Flores, Carolina Garza; paternal uncle, Jose Javier Reyna Duarte; paternal aunts, Elida Idalia Reyna Peña, and Nadia Veronica Reyna Duarte; cousins, Eli de Jesus Peña, Alondra Peña, Idali Peña, Edgar Rene Reyna, Jose Reyna, Joel Reyna, Saul Hernandez, and Gabriel Hernan Reyna.
  
Viewing for Joey will be Saturday March 16, 2024 and Sunday March 17, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. both days with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both nights at Serenity Funeral Chapels of Edcouch. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2024 at St.Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church of Edcouch. Burial will follow at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.
