LA BLANCA/KYLE – Guadalupe Perez Villarreal, 86, died on April, 29, 2015 at Christopher House in Austin, TX, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and family members.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel in Edcouch, TX. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow Sunday morning at 11 a.m. at Cementerio Valle De La Paz in Hargill, TX.
Guadalupe was born on December 12, 1928 in Weslaco, TX to Lino Garcia Perez and Martina Falcon. She is survived by four daughters, Estolia (Lupe) DeLeon of Abilene, TX. SanJuanita ( Jesus) Barrientez of Elgin, TX, Maria Anita (Severo) DeAnda of Newport, AR and Virginia (Roy) Alviar of Kyle, TX. Also surviving her are two sons, Roberto (Lee) Villarreal and Ricardo (Silvia) Villarreal, both of La Blanca, TX. 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, six brothers, five sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gregorio Villarreal, her parents and four brothers.
As the eldest of a large family, Lupe worked alongside her father, mother and other siblings to help provide for the family. For years, Lupe migrated with her family to the north to follow the crops and find work. The Perez family decided to stay in Munday, TX., where Lupe married.
After marriage, Lupe and Gregorio moved to live in Grant, MI, after several years, deciding to return to Munday, TX, to raise her children. Upon retiring they moved to the Rio Grande Valley. After her husband’s death in 2003, she moved to live with her daughter in Kyle, TX.
Lupe loved music, dancing, and playing bingo. She enjoyed being surrounded by the sound of laughter, and the company of her family and friends.
