Evangelina Sanchez Gonzalez, age 78, a resident of Richmond, Michigan and formerly of Edcouch, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Medi-Lodge of Richmond. She was born on November 8, 1930 in Weslaco, TX to the late Margarito and Guadalupe Ramirez Sanchez.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Evangelina could often be found enjoying the day by reading, sewing, gardening, or cooking. She also enjoyed dancing and playing bingo. Before moving to Michigan, she was a member of Saint Teresa Catholic Church in Edcouch, TX.

She will be missed deeply by her son Reynaldo Gonzalez of Leonard, MI, five daughters; Emma Rendon of Imlay City, MI, Eva Rendon of New Haven, MI, Elva (Clemente) Caceres of Elsa, TX, Cindy (Steve) Gould of Imlay City, Raquel (Leroy) Garza of Edcouch, TX, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Jose Armando Gonzalez, three daughters; Aida Gonzalez, Sylvia Villarreal, Dora Gonzalez, sister Margarita Ramirez, and four brothers; Felipe, Alfonso, Jose, and Pablo Sanchez.

Michigan: Visitation was held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mount Clemens, MI on Monday, August 17, 2009 with an evening rosary recital at 7:00p.m.

Edcouch: Viewing will be Friday, August 21st, from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa.

Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco, TX.
