Edcouch – Erasmo Montelongo, Sr., 85, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was born July 4, 1935 to Guadalupe and Rosalia Montelongo in Mexico.
Erasmo is survived by his former spouse, Martina Montelongo; sons, Erasmo Montelongo, Jr., Sigifredo (Leticia) Montelongo, Adam (Rosa) Montelongo, and Saul (Leticia) Montelongo; daughters, Paula (Oscar) Salazar, Marta (Raul) Granados, Graciela Gonzalez, Dora Montelongo, Yolanda (Samuel) Cano, Rosalia (Levi) Cantu Soliz, and Celia (Vicente) Salinas; 22 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; brothers, Julio (Margarita) Montelongo and Humberto (Viola) Montelongo; sisters, Fidelfa (Juan) Garcia, Elvira Montelongo, and Luisa Gomez. Also surviving him are numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Rosalia Montelongo; brothers, Guadalupe Montelongo, Jr. and Antonio Montelongo and sister, Enedina Cantu.
Viewing will be Tuesday, October 13, 2020 and Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on both days. Viewing will continue Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Interment will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Anahuac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.
