Emilia Luna

July 19, 1932 — February 13, 2021

Emilia Hernandez Luna died on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 88. Emilia was born on July 19, 1932 in La Villa, Texas where she also resided for many years.  Emilia was a very hard worker and had many skillsets. She worked as a laborer in the fields which took her around the United States in her early years. Emilia met and married her “Honey” Felipe M. Luna in Hereford, Texas and finally settled in La Villa. She worked as a line worker with Griffin and Brand, as a seamstress with Haggars, and finally as a cafeteria worker for the La Villa School District. Emilia was a very strong and independent woman. She did things her way to the very end. Emilia enjoyed doing crafts such as sewing, needlepoint stitching on plastic canvas, and most of all she loved her TV shows such as The Rifle Man, Texas Ranger, Hawaii 5-0, and Magnum P.I.

Emilia was an active member with the Santa Cruz Adult Daycare where she had many dear friends. Emilia was blessed to have many friends throughout her life that were very dear to her heart. She recollected many fond memories of them and she was blessed to have been visited by them during her final days.
