Elida F. Suarez

LA VILLA - Elida F. Suarez, 83 went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2024 in Weslaco. Elida was born on October 22, 1941 in La Villa, Texas.

Elida lived life to the fullest. She was a passionate bingo player, finding joy in each game, and she had a creative spirit that shone through her beautiful crochet work. A dedicated sports fan, she loved cheering for her favorite teams, and her adventurous spirit took her on many travels where she created lasting memories.

Above all else, Elida cherished her family. The joy of gathering together, especially at Christmas, filled her heart with warmth as she brought everyone together with her delicious tamales and menudo. Her greatest happiness came from spending quality time with her family who loved her very much.

Elida also had a fondness for the thrill of the slot machines, where she enjoyed the excitement and delight of each spin. Her vibrant personality and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Elida is preceded in death by her loving husband Apolinar Suarez, parents; Pedro Felix and Teresa Felix, daughter; Irene Suarez, brother; Pilar Felix.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Apolinar (Odilia) Suarez Jr, Gloria (Javier) Martinez, Lupita Suarez and Nora Suarez; brothers; Ruben Felix, Reynaldo Felix, Raul Felix, and Pedro Felix Jr, sisters; Albina Felix, Yolanda Felix, Mary Garza and Esmeralda Perez, grandchildren; Javier A. Martinez, Andrew A. Suarez, Randee R. Rodriguez, Dr. Dani'Elle T. Nares, Jay A. Aguilar, great grandchildren; Dominic Gonzalez, Derek A. Rodriguez, and Dustin A. Rodriguez. Elida is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, January 4, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Viewing will continue Sunday, January 5, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday January 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church located on 200 Salazar Street in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Serving as Pallbearers are Javier A. Martinez, Andrew A Suarez, Jay Aguilar, Javier Martinez, Raul Felix, and Abel Perez, honorary pallbearers are Dominic RJ Gonzalez, Derek A. Rodriguez, and Dustin A. Rodriguez.

In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew and loved Elida to come together in fellowship as we honor her legacy. May her spirit continue to live on in our hearts.
