Monte Alto – Elida G. Pineda, 81, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. She was born August 6, 1938 to Nicolas and Angelita Gonzalez in La Villa. Elida is survived by her son, Juan Jose Pineda; daughter, Margie Pineda; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Arturo Gonzalez, Realnulfo Gonzalez, Nicolas Gonzalez, Jr., and Ricardo Gonzalez; and sisters, Graciela Ledesma, Yolanda Funk, and Sylvia Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andres C. Pineda, Sr.; son, Andy Pineda; brothers, Oscar Gonzalez and Raul Gonzalez.

Viewing will be held Sunday, April 19, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will be held at a later date.

In regards to our policy in dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic, our priority is always the safety of the families we serve, our community and our employees. Due to the current COVID-19 mandates, we can only allow ten individuals at any time. Family and friends may have to rotate to allow others to enter.
