Domingo Ramirez

March 25, 1917 — May 3, 2016

Elsa/McAllen- Domingo Ramirez passed away to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on May 3, 2016 at the age of 99. Domingo was born on March 25, 1917 in Brownsville, TX to Adrian and Nicolasa Ramirez. Most of his life he lived in Engleman Gardens north of Elsa, TX and in 1967 moved to Mile 15 between Elsa and Weslaco. From 2003, he lived in McAllen, TX with his daughter, Olga. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Paula. He is survived by his four children: Juan Jose, Rosa Maria, Olga, and Adrian (and his wife Conchi), his eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, plus numerous relatives from his family of 5 siblings and their children. Domingo leaves a legacy of love, kindness, joy, and wise attributes. He loved people, dancing, and playing his accordion. Most importantly, he loved all his family and the Lord Jesus with all his heart and would pray daily for his children and those already departed. Domingo lived a long and satisfied life. He was content with simple things and always had a cheerful attitude. Plus, he knew he was loved dearly by his children and by God Almighty, and he loved them greatly in return! During the last 18 months while at Retama Manor and Comfort House in McAllen, he showed tremendous peace and wisdom knowing that his time to pass on to God’s heavenly realm would soon come, and he was ready. Domingo will be greatly missed by his family who has forever been blessed because of his enormous loving ways and his great sense of humor. The family extends gratitude to all who were a part of his life and to the many relatives and friends who have called or visited to honor his memory. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Retama Manor and Comfort House, and other providers, for the love and care they gave Domingo during the latter part of his life.
