Edinburg - Delia Padilla Moreno, 77, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Colonial Manor in Pharr, TX. She was born December 24, 1944 to Arcadio Padilla, Sr. and Vicenta Cardoza Padilla in Elsa, TX. Delia received her Bachelor's Degree from Pan American University and taught at Edinburg School District for 26 years before retiring. She is survived by her husband, Juanito Castañeda Moreno; children, Army Retired Pedro Noe (Kimberly) Moreno, America Moreno Garza (Jose Nicolas), Leticia (Jaime) Garza; and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Arcadio (†Guadalupe) Padilla, Jr., David (Leticia) Padilla, and Daniel (†Savina) Padilla; sisters, Aracelia (Robert) Flores, Angie (Max) Zavala, and Elisa (Pedro III) Perez; and her brother-in-law Fidencio Vela, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Delia is preceded in death by her parents, Arcadio Padilla, Sr. and Vicenta C. Padilla; and sister Mirtala P. Vela.
Viewing will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow to Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, TX at 11:00 a.m. Cardoza Funeral Home in Edcouch is in charge of arrangements.
