David Martinez

Edcouch-Elsa - David Martinez, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, July 5, 2021 at his residence in Edcouch, TX. He was born July 25, 1963 to Ramon Martinez and Bertha Vasquez Martinez in Donna, TX. David worked as a truck driver in the produce industry. Although David was short is stature, he was regarded as "Super Dave" because of his canny ability to handle big eighteen wheelers. He will be missed by his family, fellow truckers, and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosaisela Sandoval Martinez; son, David Martinez, Jr.; daughters, Priscilla (Luis) Martinez, Kayla Martinez, and Karen Martinez; and one grandchild, Andre Martinez. David is also survived by his mother, Bertha V. Martinez; his brothers, Rene (Maria Isabel) Martinez, Ramon (Eva) Martinez, Jr., Carlos Martinez; sisters, Rosa (Oscar) Valenzuela, Juanita M. (Gregorio) Fraga, Bertha (Rogelio) Hernandez, and Lydia (Raul) Castillo. Also surviving him are numerous nephews and nieces. David is preceded in death by his father, Ramon Martinez.

Viewing will be Wednesday, July 7, 2021 and Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Refuge Rock Church, 931 Santa Rosa Ave. in Edcouch, TX. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. both evenings.  Funeral Service will be Friday, July 9, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Refuge Rock Church. Interment will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes, TX. Cardoza Funeral of Edcouch is in charge of funeral arrangements.
