N. Las Vegas/La Villa
Cristano Juarez Cantu 105, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2014 at his Las Vegas residence. He was born May 19, 1908 in Cuero, TX to Abram and Alcaria Cantu. Crisanto is preceded in death by his wife, Concepcion Ruiz Cantu, brothers, Jose Maria, Abram, Tomas, Domingo, Benito and Juan Cantu, Sister, Concepcion Cantu and grandson, Jose Angel Mireles. He is survived by his children, Raul Cantu of La Villa, TX., Maria Corina Mireles of Prosser, WA., Maria Ruby Cantu of Las Vegas, NV., Crisanto Cantu Jr. of Las Vegas, NV., San Juana Villarreal of Grandview, WA., and Elisandro Cantu of Prosser, WA. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Crisanto’s favorite pass time, which he was well known for, was breeding game roosters here in the Valley before moving to Las Vegas. Hunting and fishing were also important hobbies for him all which he knew a lot about and passed that knowledge on by being a great mentor for the younger generations of his family. He will be missed by many and kept in our hearts forever.
Viewing will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Cardoza Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing again Saturday, March 15, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church of Edcouch. Burial will follow at Solis Ranch Cemetery of La Feria, TX.
