Edinburg- Antonio Anastacio Ybarra, 82, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Solara Hospital in McAllen. Antonio was born January, 22, 1940 in Brownsville, Texas to Nemesio and Carlota Ybarra. He proudly served our country by enlisting in the U.S. Army. Antonio is preceded in death by his parents, Nemesio and Carlota Ybarra and brothers, Jose Angel Ibarra, Francisco Nemesio Ybarra and Miguel Leon Ybarra. He is survived by his wife, Mirna C. Ybarra; his children, Lucille Ybarra, Joe Michael Ybarra, Anthony Ybarra and Roman (Nidia) Ybarra. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren, SummerAnn (Rolando) Gutierrez, Karlotta Marie Ybarra (Teodoro Soto), Joe Michael Ybarra, II, Anthony Ybarra, Jasmine Ybarra, Samantha Tijerina (Steve Najera), Kimberly Sue Ybarra (Richard Soefje), Ernesto Anastacio Tijerina, Amanda Ybarra, Charles Xavier Ybarra (Julie Mendiola), Christian Robert Enriquez (Adriana Enriquez), Sebastian Roman Ybarra, Alyssa Raquel Ybarra, Orlando Ybarra, Brianda Ybarra, Cypress Ybarra; 14 great grandchildren, Jailah Sanchez, Orlando Gutierrez III, Elianna Marie Sanchez, Luke Antonio Tijerina, Annabella Gutierrez, Lilah Borrows, Ryan Gutierrez, Anastasia Ybarra, Estelle Najera, Olivia Najera, Adonis Tijerina, Emmett Tijerina, Melody Soefje, Charles Xavier Ybarra; brothers Isaias Ibarra and Juan Diego Ybarra (Rachel Ybarra).
Viewing will be Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa, Texas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Chapels of Edcouch.
