MCALLEN -Amelia Villanueva, 77 entered Eternal Rest on February 15, 2025 in McAllen.

Born on March 12, 1947, in Mission, Texas, Amelia embraced life with an unyielding spirit and a love for family and friends.

Amelia was a dedicated worker in the housekeeping industry, where she was known for her hard work, attention to detail, and warm-hearted nature. She found joy in her job and took pride in bringing comfort to others through her labor.

A woman who epitomized love and vitality, Amelia cherished every moment spent with her family. She was an avid dancer who filled her home with the melodies of her favorite artist, Elvis Presley. Music was the backdrop of her life, resonating deeply during the festive holidays she adored, especially Christmas. Amelia was known for her enthusiasm in maintaining beloved traditions that brought her family together, creating lasting memories and a spirit of unity.

Outside of her work, Amelia found solace in gardening, nurturing life and beauty in her surroundings. She loved shopping excursions and found peace at the beach, relishing the moments spent there with her family.

Amelia's warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her, and her absence will be profoundly felt. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.

Amelia is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years Juan John Villanueva, parents Carlos and Susana Chavez. Amelia is also preceded in death by her brother Juan Chavez.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters; Harrie Villanueva, Rachel (Robert Veliz) Villanueva, and Samantha (Joe Garza) Villanueva, siblings; Lupe Ayala, Olga Chavez, Carlos Chavez Jr. and Richard Chavez. Amelia is also survived by 3 grandsons; Valek Tijerina, JJ Garza and Basilio Garza.

As per Amelia's wishes, she will be cremated at a later date.

Amelia Villanueva will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light whose spirit will continue to inspire those who loved her.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located on 1401 E.Santa Rosa Ave Edcouch, Texas 78538.
