La Villa - Alfonso "El Indio" De Anda passed away suddenly in La Villa. Alfonso was originally from Torreon Mexico. Everyone knew him as "El Indio." He was very private when it came to his family, so not much is known about them. He chose to live his life his way, very simple. He loved to watch novelas on tv, listen to music on the radio, play the lottery scratch offs and ride around on his bike with his dogs by his side.He came to live with the Garza's back in 1997, so all the grandkids grew up around him. He loved to joke around with the Garza grandchildren. He learned to speak a little English by interacting with them, and at the same time he taught them some Spanish. They couldn't leave without telling Indio goodbye. They would say goodbye until he heard them and answered back. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping at the Garza ranch. He will be greatly missed by the Garza family and the residents of La Villa. "Rest in peace Indio, some day we will see you again."
